When did you get engaged?
We got engaged in 2000 on millennium eve.

Was the engagement a surprise? / Were you expecting it?
The engagement was a surprise on the day but we had discussed getting married and although shocked I had been thinking about it for about a year

Where did you get engaged?
In our flat in Bordersley Green – Sat on the sofa eating breakfast off our laps on millennium eve.  My partner asked me to reach into his back pocket and there was a ring.

What was good about it?
The ring had been made by a friend of my husbands and although he hadn’t discussed it at all, it was a beautiful engagement ring.

Did you help design / pick the ring?
Not at all – My husband designed the engagement ring and worked on it – I used to wear an old hepatite ring on the engagement ring finger and he took that off me one night in the cinema as a sizing guide.

What type of ring is your engagement ring?
A series of diamonds set in a sunken gold ring – I love it!.

Did you pick the ring before or after the engagement?
This was all done without my knowledge before the proposal
